Joakim Söderberg to be precise.
My career has followed a clear, consistent path: human rights. This is a subject I delved into deeply while earning my law degree back in Uppsala. When GDPR came to the fore—and the right to privacy suddenly became a legal obligation—it was time to focus on data protection. That is why I am now a data protection lawyer.
Since graduating, I have served as a Data Protection Officer for a mid-sized municipality and as the head of the supervisory authority in Åland. I have gained a solid grasp of the law, but with new legislation, interpretations are constantly evolving, so it is essential to stay on one’s toes. Given my experience, I often notice shortcomings in regulatory compliance. Sometimes I will blog about that. At other times, I will blog about data protection issues that simply interest me.
I am also available for consulting assignments if you need assistance with data protection compliance and speaking engagements.
